Opening Day

Day #84
Tripometer: 10497.2 miles

Today I realized that I was missing baseball in my life. If I were at home I would be have been at the Yankees game but since I'm not at home I decided to check out the San Diego Padres. My Uncle Roger and I have talked about how much fun it would be to drive cross-country going to a baseball game at all of the ballparks. Since I don't think either one of us will be winning the lottery any time soon I figured I'd get started on my own. The stadium itself is very new (I think it was just opened last season). It had some very nice things about it...there is a very large sandbox behind right field for kids to play in as there parents watch the game and there is a park behind center field where people can picnic and play as they watch the game. Overall I wasn't too impressed with the stadium. Maybe it was more the fans that I wasn't impressed with. Everyone was very quiet and relaxed. There was no cheering going on. It made me miss NY.
