The Beautiful Southwest

Day # 71
Triopmeter: 8914.5 miles

What a marvelous place the southwest is. Today my mom and I went to the Petrified Forest National Park. It was absolutely gorgeous. The landscape truly looked like it had been painted. The colors were incredible. It was a bit of an overcast day which we found out at the Visitor's Center was actually better. On very sunny days it is sometimes hard to see all of the wonderful colors.

The Painted Desert

After we completed our Painted Desert experience we walked through what my mom described as a Petrified Forest Graveyard. There and paths and stairs winding all over with large pieces of petrified wood along the way. They were pretty amazing.
