And Then There's Mississippi

After my wonderful trip to Graceland I hit the road and headed towards New Orleans, Lousiana. If you check out a map you will notice that I had to drive through the entire state of Mississippi. No big deal. Well the drive was going fine until I got pulled over. I was driving 82 in a 70. I was in the right lane of a 2 lane highway and people were passing me on the left. But me with my out-of-state northern lisence plates, I get pulled over. The cop walked up to the car and said "Let me see you lisence ma'am." So I give him my lisence, full knowing that I'm going to get a ticket. He says "Ms. Dabney I clocked you going 82. That's why I pulled you over." So I said to him "I'm sorry officer. I didn't realize I was going that fast. I just really have to pee." It was true and I thought it might loosen the tension. It didn't work. His response "I'll be right back." And back he came with a $123 ticket for me. I thanked him and moved on. The worst part about the whole situation was that while I was in Delaware Jen and I had basically predicted it was going to happen. Oh well. Hopefully there will be no more tickets on this trip.

The correct title to the post should have been:

"What Not To Do On Route 55 In Mississippi"

...that is, drive 12 miles over the speed limit with out-of-state license plates!!!
